Client Spotlight: From Dated to Dreamy

In this kitchen remodel, we reimagined a dated galley space into a fun, functional hub with custom details, new tile layouts, and beautiful natural oak cabinetry. Smart storage and a new seating area brought it all together.

New Pantry

Creating a more optimal traffic flow, the wall separating the kitchen and dining room was opened, and the doorway from the hallway to the kitchen was enlarged. The pantry was moved to an interior side wall.

New Seating & Storage

A new U-shaped layout with a peninsula counter increases storage capacity while providing casual seating.

Custom Details

Above the cooktop, the patterned cement tile runner adds a dash of Old World charm ...paired with white ceramic subway tile for a classic, timeless look.

The custom white oak Shaker-style cabinetry with black matte hardware were selected for their ability to age over time.

Before

This ranch style home was last remodeled in the 1970s, the galley-style kitchen featured original cabinetry and aging appliances.

The kitchen was closed off from the dining room, and the pantry was inconveniently located in the hallway.

Before

Old appliances and a poor layout didn’t serve my clients for cooking and entertaining. The oak cabinetry style felt dated and needed a fresh new look.

Out and About: Sausalito Artist Katherine Keller

This month’s local spotlight shines brightly on the exceptionally talented Sausalito-based artist, Katherine Keller. I absolutely adore her work, as she has a unique ability to blend different mediums beautifully. My client completely fell in love with one of Katherine's stunning mixed media pieces, and had the pleasure of installing it in their entry hall. The artwork truly transforms the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere while making you feel deeply connected to the entire color palette!
